To provide every Long Beach State University student with an opportunity to meet Jesus Christ and assist in essential developmental growth.
Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which one must individually bow. So one hundred worshipers meeting together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be were they to become "unity" conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship. –A.W. Introducing Long Beach State University Students to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.
We accomplish our mission by…
Praying for students
Coordinating with Christ-centered organizations and churches for outreaches and support.
Sharing our lives and the Gospel of Jesus Christ with students
Inviting them to personally respond to this Gospel.
Loving others regardless of their response.
Assist students in developing the skills, assets and attitudes to reach their full God-given potential.
True Unity in Christ is based upon a living relationship with God. He lives within every genuine believer; the Bible says:
You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
Therefore, our group does not "make unity" it only "acknowledges unity" as it is already there and exists. This Unity is based on Gods unmerited Favor.
We uphold our values by…
Living according to and communicating the whole Gospel of Jesus Christ
Carrying out our mission under the authority of Scripture and relying on the Holy Spirit to empower our ministry
Encouraging the welfare and spiritual health of those who do this ministry, so that they may minister out of a consistent and growing relationship with Christ.
Researching and developing innovative approaches to reaching uncommitted, disinterested students on our campus.
Working along side with followers of Christ from a variety of traditions and local churches around the Long Beach area.
